My favourite idol in America
Thursday, November 13, 2008
For those who have read my blog during the last American Idol season, you will know that I FULLY SUPPORT
David Archuleta! IMHO, he got the best voice and the most contagious smile. He's such a "sunshine" character. Anyway, I was at HMV
Citylink during the lunchbreak just to browse around. Suddenly something caught my eyes and it was none either than the newly released album of David A. I did a sample listening of a few tracks. In less than 3 minutes, I concluded that it was an album worth getting!! So, if you have not gotten yours, WHAT ARE U WAITING FOR??!! Muahahahaha....

Tracks:
1. Crush
2. Touch My Hand
3. Barriers
4. My Hands
5. A Little Too Not Over You
6. You Can
7. Running
8. Desperate
9. To Be With You
10. Don't Let Go
11. Your Eyes Don't Lie
12. Angels

Pull back! Retreat!! Retreat!!
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
I finally stepped onto the soil of Indonesia last week!
Haha! Finally, I've been to both the immediate neighbours of Singapore. Well, all thanks to my divisional retreat, I was at
Bintan for a 2D1N stay at the
Nirawana Gardens resort.
Hmm... frankly, there was nothing much to do at
Bintan for me. All i did was swim, eat, walk along the beach and play with two super cute boys! Both of them got such nice big eyes and charming smile. The retreat would be so much more boring, if not for these two cuties. All thanks to my colleague for bringing these two cute dudes along. It was fun babysitting them!
Haha!!
Oh, besides being a part-time babysitter, I also tried being an amateur photographer doing some scenic shots. Here's a series of shots i took of some waves rushing in...

history in the making?
Wednesday, November 05, 2008
Results for the US President election is filtering out right now. Current projections seem to indicate history will be in the making, with the first ever African-American President in more than 200 years of American nationhood. Democrats also appeared to have control over the Congress -both the Senate and House of Representatives. This will make Obama, if elected, a powerful president to push through his policies of "Change". Americans had clearly given their mandate to the Democrats, in the hope the party will be able to turn the economy around. I guess the Republican party is now suffering from the eight-year reign of the Bush administration, which saw two wars and the worst recession since the Great Depression.
What does all this mean for Asia, and particularly South-east Asia and Singapore? Well, let us hope the Obama administration will see greater attention being placed on SEA. After all, Obama spent a part of his life in this region. However, with the Democrats in power, I wonder whether we will suffer economically. Democrats are after all more inclined towards protectionism, which will hurt an open economy like Singapore. The Democrats will really have to work hard in reviving the US economy, or they may face a backlash in the next presidential or congressional election. It will be a interesting four-year ahead.

leaving on a jetplane...
Hmm... I've not planned, or went on, any overseas trips this year yet. Its quite unusual, considering that I'll always make one or two annual trips out of this island... ever since I started working. Anyway, thanks to my workplace, I will be traveling quite a bit this month.
My travel plan:

7 Nov - 8 Nov ~ Bintan, Indonesia
20 Nov - 24 Nov ~ Beijing, China
29 Nov - 6 Dec ~ London, United Kingdom
